How has Shell LiveWIRE helped you / your business?

The Shell LiveWIRE programme has been running now for 30yrs (since 1982) and has obviously changed quite a bit during that time.

In the beginning there was a focus on more local, face-to-face events and training but in recent years, technology has allowed us to become more of an online, information and advice service plus start-up awards.

We gather feedback from our monthly award winners all the time and know from conversations we have with young entrepreneurs at events across the UK that they value the Shell LiveWIRE programme, and the information we share on our website, Discussion Forum, Facebook and Twitter.

I remember first joining this website. I was in the process of starting up my business with the Princess Trust, this website had helped me get my initial funding as the library has many useful resources. I have had to do a lot of learning and Shell has definatly helped me to understand the business world a lot better.

Opportunities for employment are so difficult to come by in these times and so many young people are looking towards starting their own businesses. It is the British inventive spirit that built our empire, maybe the same spirit can pull us out of the downturn we are currently faced with.
