Find a Programme / Hong Kong

inspiring enterprise around the world

LiveWIRE in Hong Kong provides a one-stop service including business concept exploration, business planning and start up support, and business operation management. The programme provides the following services: Enquiry services providing helpful information for starting a business; business seminars; Bright Ideas Workshops to develop enterprising skills and business ideas; business mentoring and counselling services; and the Livewire - Lunar New Year Bazaar.

Launched in 2004, the LiveWIRE project in Hong Kong has been providing one-stop service including business concept exploration, business planning and execution, and business operation management to young people aged between 18 and 30. The project is a joint effort of Shell Hong Kong Limited and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups.

The programme consists of two components:
1) training and consultation, and
2) competition and recognition. The seminar series and mentoring services are the platforms for established professionals sharing their experience in business running with the participating young people, whilst “The Bright Ideas Workshop” series offer elementary and advanced level trainings for them.

To further enhance the programme, starting from 2007, we’ve added a local element to the project – Lunar New year Bazaar training and competition.

Lunar New Year Bazaar is a tradition before the lunar new year in China. People set up stalls at parks for about one week to sell goods related to the new year. In Hong Kong, many youngsters take this opportunity to learn how to run a business. Participating teams need to attend training workshops, run a stall at Lunar New Year Bazaar, submit written report and do a face-to-face presentation in front the panel of judges.
