Has made me a bit depressed. But hey we are still getting there. Interest is still good and we've lined up some very useful pr  leads for when we get our location. Property market has come up with some good venues and we are also about to get a web developer on board to finalise a really good team.

Being a leader has not come naturally to me but sometimes a good "chucking your toys out of the pram" session does actually get work focused.

We'll we've been plodding along with the plans, holidays and everything do take their toll on timetables but we are still pushing through well. Plans are afoot for the website launch in the next few weeks with no fanfare, just some announcements to those already members and a refer a friend campaign.

The all important thing is the venue, got a really good venue person who is looking at it with commercial eyes, as if it was his own money, which brings me confidence but also some frustration as i want things running now, but my business brain keeps telling me, there is one chance to make this a brand and we have to do things right first time every time.

At last full negotiations and decisions have been made and I can now say that in terms of skill set, everybody is in position. However, singing from the same hymn sheet might take some more doing. Revisiting a business plan is brillant and making it reasonable while being flexible is quite a task, i really do want my plan to be a plan that works and doesnt go all over the place, i dont think that really is going to happen though, so many ideas that i believe i will pull off in the three years .

 

Well, as ever i always think im going to progress at a quicker pace than I actually do. So im still in discussions with the potential venue director. Although this is a downer in terms of progression at least i'm doing things properly and its making me think about certain aspects more and more.

Well we have the venue operations director on board, subject to a couple of i's dotted and T's crossed. So the team is in place, now its all about negotation and determination. I've set a target date of October 1st to get this going in order to be able to also grab the xmas market.

Anyway, back to the day job! With the phrase it can be done, it will be done.

 

Just a quick update, it seems when things are going well and the more work you put in the better you feel. This for me is exactly right and I think the gods are listening also. Had a first meeting with a possible venue director to complete the team. Seems a perfect fit for the team and shares a lot of the enthauism that the original team have also, add a spice of economics degree, a succesful bar operation currently and a part masters in marketing, it could be that we've killed a possible three birds with one stone.

All this is pending  a few enquiries obviously, some things are too good to be true.

Well, its been a couple of days since i've managed to finish off my first business plan. Incredible really when you think i've had the idea for nearly a year now. It has been a roller coaster ride up til now and am expecting it to speed up fast now, hopefully on an upward turn.

The major difficulties for me is holding down a full time job and other committements, but this has actually helped. Some time away from the idea has not only stopped me boring my friends, but I feel now has vastly improved the idea and also added other ideas as easy add ons.  The aspect of any business is to get it right first time.

Well, i'll try and update this blog on a regularly basis, even if it is just for myself. Wish me luck as i'm back to the cash flow forecast with a fresh approach at the weekend. Once that is done then its onwards and upwards.
