Category: Survey

I've just been reading back over some of the feedback I've got from the survey.

These are some of the responces I have had. They are in the minority, but for a point I'm trying to make I think it's worthwhile to concetrate on. A few months ago I would have heeded their advice, but since joining this forum I have become much more positive in my out look.

When asked what people would like in a website based around youth employment, one said:

'Nothing'

Then, on any other comments, I have had:

"Don't do it"

and,

"Don't do this its pointless. You're wasting your time!!! Who cares about reenage employment they'll find a job one day!! Is someone just sulking because they can't find a job themselves???"

While these were in with a 95% positive reponce, it got me thinking.

1) The last comment was somewhat irritating me. I may not be able to find a job, but atleast I'm doing something useful while being unemployed. There was alot I'd like to rant at this user, but probably wouldn't get through!

2) Apply the 'Don't do it' responce to websites like Twitter, Facebook, and the like. The basic concept of twitter is that you have 120 characters to make an announcement to friends. Nothing more. If you take a sensible approach to that, you think, why don't people just use the current items avaialble on facebook, msn, texting, e-mail to do the same thing? It's not unreasonable to dismiss twitter as something that wouldn't work pre-launch, and that it was somewhat pointless. But look at the success it is at now.

You cannot base business ideas purely on sense. For one, you should never underestimate the sillyness of users.

I feel this most may be somewhat inchorent and more of a rant, but it's nice to get it out none the less!
