Impulsando tus ideas

The much anticipated climax to the Desafío Joven programme of 2012 occurred at the Grand Final, hosted at the NH City Hotel, on 6th December. For the ten finalists, which included six female entrepreneurs, the Grand Final is the culmination of several months work to produce a business plan. Innovative business ideas that arose from the process ranged from producing fashionable recycled eco-friendly paper bags and an online language tuition and translation service, to ecological cabins and an online global travel planner.

Esteemed guests attending the Grand Final included: Juan José Aranguren, Chairman of Shell Argentina; Pablo Taussig, President of ACDE; Tristan Rodríguez Loredo, Desafío Joven Programme Director; and Verónica Staniscia, Desafío Joven Programme Manager.

Juan Jose Aranguren gave a keynote speech at the event where he highlighted the success Desafío Joven has enjoyed in attracting and engaging with new entrepreneurs and the value brought by volunteer advisors who are providing business advice to the young entrepreneurs – something which has been happening for more than 10 years.

The main prizewinner of the night was Celina Etienot, whose business idea "Bierplatz" is dedicated to producing craft beer. “Bierplatz” is also a meeting place where people can taste craft beers and buy all the necessary supplies to make their own.

Celina, who was delighted at the announcement, thanked Desafío Joven for all the new knowledge acquired during the process and the momentum that this award will provide for her business. She also thanked her business advisor, Carlos Pereyra Iraola, who helped to formulate the plans for the proposed business dedicated to beer lovers.

All the finalists agreed that Desafío Joven had opened doors to implement their business idea and that reaching the Grand Final was a kick start for their ventures. In addition, they highlighted the performance and dedication of the business advisors who accompanied them throughout this process, and the bonds forged amongst all the participants.

In early 2013, the team at Desafío Joven will commence with a new class of budding entrepreneurs, all of whom are taking on the challenge of creating their own business.
