Dr Sam Yap ¦ Dr Gurchran Singh
Cherie Hearts Group International Pte Ltd

Turning a business into a market leader requires dynamic leadership and outstanding entrepreneurial vision. Dr Sam Yap and Dr Gurchran Singh both have these in abundance, and have achieved exactly that with their company.

Concerned at the way the education system increasingly seemed to be prioritising paper qualifications over the learning experience for children, the enterprising duo decided to redress the balance by starting their business to provide a more family friendly approach to make learning fun for children at an early stage in their development.

Launched in 2001, Cherie Hearts provides educational services that cater for the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and literacy development of children. Offering a stimulating out of school curriculum that involves the whole family, Cherie Hearts provides young children with an unrivalled opportunity for development in which their parents can play a full part.

Cherie Hearts has grown from its initial children’s centre in Limau Garden to operate more than 40 centres locally and throughout South East Asia. Employing 447 staff, the company now has franchises in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea and China.

Now the preferred choice for many parents seeking early years education for their children, Cherie Hearts has won more than 20 prestigious industry awards, which is more than any other SME in Singapore.

A real pioneer in the childcare sector, the company provides accredited training for childcare teachers, and introduced the first family “lifestyle hub” in Singapore, comprising a childcare centre, a family spa and café.

Synonymous with innovative, quality childcare, Cherie Hearts is a respected international brand which is “touching hearts and moulding lives” throughout South East Asia. Ultimately, the aim is to make Cherie Hearts a global childcare brand.
