Combining outstanding creativity with the latest digital technology to enable companies to reach their customers more effectively is the driving force behind Anan Butt’s innovative business, Mvergence Media.

Adnan’s belief that technology opens up possibilities started as a boy, when at the age of eight he saved up a month’s worth of pocket money to send a letter to Bill Gates asking to borrow a computer so that he could train people in his community.

Despite having trained as a mechanical engineer, Adnan chose to take a lower paid marketing position at an international FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) company. The opportunity to connect with millions of customers and to use his creativity to influence their purchasing gave him a real buzz. After two years in product development and learning the tricks of the mobile media trade, Adnan spotted a huge gap in the market for a digital marketing agency that could revolutionise the way companies engaged with their customers in Pakistan.

Launched in 2009, Mvergence Media started with three employees working out of a studio apartment. Now the company has 25 staff and has a turnover of USD $500,000.

Currently one of the fastest growing digital media agencies in Pakistan, Mvergence Media combines state of the art technology with a highly creative team to provide a range of high quality services ranging from digital reputation management and mobile payment solutions to integrated advertising campaigns on mobile and TV.

Mvergence, along with its sister company Walnut Media, has come a long way in just a few years and is the brains behind some of the biggest and most imaginative digital campaigns that the region has ever seen. This ranges from digitising Coke Studio - the region’s biggest music show which generated 100,000 fans in seventy days, to delivering a campaign that enabled McDonalds to increase its revenues by 23%. The company also manages the digital reputation of Pakistan’s biggest FMCG company, Unilever and the biggest telecom operator, Mobilink.

With ambitious plans for the future, Adnan is planning to launch the region’s first social media monitoring tool and expects to become the region’s biggest digital agency and media monitoring company.
